Huahine – another day in paradise.

After a quick check-in and check-out at Tahiti, we waved farewell to the windward islands (Tahiti and Moorea). Our overnight trip to the leeward islands was uneventful – light wind and calm sea. We arrived Huahine on Sat Jun 15.

Another south pacific paradise.

We now have a complete different dinghy fleet. The “upgrade” deserves its own blog post that Mark has been promising.

Huahine, similar to Moorea, hasn’t been completely overran by tourism. We did a dinghy ride around the island and found our favorite anchorage. We moved Gray Matter to Bourayne, a big and picturesque bay in the middle of Huahine.

A hike around Bouranye.

Just as we were jazzed about having the anchorage to ourselves, a giant expedition ship pulled in, followed by a luxury yacht. Gray Matter suddenly looks like a tender.

The expedition ship is called Arctic P, the 5th largest expedition yachts in the world – 287 feet.

And it is a city at night.

Huahine marked the halfway point of our voyage – 6 month after our go-away party. We are now 4350 nm from the Golden Gate and 4110 nm to the Brisbane river. We celebrate this milestone by putting up a new Gray Matter flag.

The first Gray Matter flag – duty well served.
